1. The Service

Birthday Star (the “App”) and the website at birthday-star-af692.web.app (together, the “Service”) let you discover a real, catalogued star associated with a chosen date, explore it in an augmented-reality sky, and create keepsakes to share. These terms form an agreement between you and the makers of Birthday Star.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• copy, resell, or redistribute the App or its content except as the App’s sharing features allow;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where such restriction is prohibited by law;
• use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it, or interfere with anyone else’s use.

3. Use your phone responsibly

AR Sky Mode encourages you to move and point your device at the sky. Always stay aware of your surroundings. Do not use the App while driving, walking near traffic, at cliff edges, or anywhere it could put you or others at risk. You are responsible for using the App safely.

4. Astronomical information

Star data is drawn from the public HYG astronomical database and positions are computed with well-established but simplified formulas. The Service is provided for enjoyment and education. While we aim for accuracy, we do not guarantee that positions, timings, or facts are exact, and the Service should not be relied upon for scientific, navigational, or professional purposes. Star “naming,” keepsakes, and certificates are novelty and sentimental gifts; they are not an official or scientific registration of a star.

5. Your content

Any names, dates, letters, or messages you enter remain yours. They are stored on your device (see our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the content you create and share, and for having the right to share it.

6. Intellectual property

The App, its design, text, artwork, sounds, and software are protected by intellectual-property rights and belong to their respective owners. Underlying astronomical catalogue data is used under its own public terms. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App.

7. Purchases

The App may offer optional premium features or in-app purchases. Any purchases are processed by the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms. Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the makers of Birthday Star will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. The “last updated” date above shows the current version.
